Procurement Specialist

Location: Buckinghamshire (2-3 days per week in the office)

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 + 10% Bonus

You'll have ownership of a diverse spend portfolio, work closely with stakeholders across the business, and play a key role in strengthening supplier relationships, reducing costs, and driving procurement best practice.


The Role

As Procurement Specialist, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering category strategies, managing supplier performance, leading sourcing activities, and supporting the business in achieving commercial and ESG objectives.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing category strategies across a range of spend areas.
  • Delivering measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and value-added initiatives.
  • Leading end-to-end sourcing and tender processes.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to influence procurement decisions.
  • Negotiating supplier contracts to achieve the best commercial outcomes while managing risk.
  • Managing supplier performance through KPIs and driving continuous improvement.
  • Conducting market analysis and identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
  • Supporting supply chain resilience, governance, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Using data, technology, and AI tools to improve procurement processes and decision-making.


About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial acumen with excellent stakeholder management skills.


You'll ideally have:

  • 3–5 years' procurement or strategic sourcing experience.
  • Experience managing end-to-end sourcing projects and supplier negotiations.
  • A track record of delivering cost savings and commercial value.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend and performance data.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively.
  • Experience managing supplier performance against contractual KPIs.
  • A good understanding of procurement governance, risk management, and ESG principles.
  • Experience using procurement systems, data analytics, or AI tools would be advantageous.
  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
  • CIPS qualification, or working towards it (desirable).


A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, as occasional travel to other UK sites is involved.
